Taking Back What Hell Has Stolen In Central California
Jesus is the subject. Jesus came to change the world. As followers of Christ, we, too, are called to change the world by demonstrating the love of Christ. We do this by encountering his presence, equipping his people, and engaging the world.
As part of the Church of God (Anderson, IN), we are a global movement of people seeking to fulfill God’s mission in the world. We’re committed to encountering the God of the Word and faithfully living out his commands. We’re committed equipping the people of God for the mission that Jesus Christ gave every believer: to engage the world and make disciples of all nations (Matt 28:18–20).
We are in the reclamation business—changing the world by taking back what hell has stolen. Born emphasizing the unity and holiness of God’s people, calling for the reformation of the church with these truths in view, we also know that ours is a call to expand the kingdom of God. Whenever a soul is redeemed, the Kingdom expands. Whenever light penetrates the darkness, whenever justice prevails over injustice, whenever knowledge replaces ignorance, whenever healing mends what is broken, whenever freedom in Christ overcomes the bondage of this world, whenever Jesus is owned as Lord where once he was not, the Kingdom expands. Hell has stolen much; heaven’s design is to take it back. Jesus is the way.
OUR VISION: Taking Back What Hell Has Stolen in Central California
OUR VALUES: Encounter || Equip || Engage
The Central California Association of the Church of God includes congregations affiliated with the Church of God (Anderson, IN). Our member churches are located in various communities from Madera in the north to Bakersfield in the south, from Oakhurst in the mountains to Santa Maria on the coast.
The pastors, congregants, and churches in our district maintain accountability and relationship through ministerial credentialing, retreats, and various fellowship events throughout the year. It is our desire to see the existing Church of God congregations in Central California grow and new congregations be established.
Michael Guzman is the Regional Pastor for the Central California Association of the Church of God. He began serving in this role in September of 2017. He lives in Exeter with his wife and two daughters, where he also continues to serve as lead pastor of the Church of God of Exeter.
